Refugees & Migrants

We have been extending a hand of welcome and friendship to refugees and migrants since 1999. Sister Margaret Walsh started Brushstrokes Community Project, which offers holistic support from their site based in Sandwell. Both Sophia House and Nicolas Barré House were developed in partnership with parishes and religious orders to offer accommodation and support to refugees and migrants.

How can you help?

In addition to cash donations we always welcome donations of household goods, and toiletries.

In our plan to identify gaps in provision, I met refugee families for the first time, and I was deeply moved. I have never met such poverty, they were so isolated….I began to think, this is where we must make them our priority.
