St. Joseph’s Care Home

Our Home

Nestled in a quiet location, with views overlooking the countryside, St Joseph’s is the perfect setting. The aim of St Joseph’s is to create a homely environment, specialising in residential care for older people and those living with dementia.
Sit down in one of our memory lounges and enjoy a home cooked meal or head down to our salon and enjoy being pampered. St. Joseph’s prides itself on working with residents and family members to treat each person as an individual, whilst offering the highest quality of care.

Furry Friend

Our very own St. Joseph’s mascot! Rona enjoys sitting by our resident’s feet to get lots of fuss and loves to show potential new residents and their families around. Dogs have been proven to support people with dementia, providing companionship. Rona helps make anyone new feel a part of the family instantly.

Quotation marks

My mom has been at St. Joseph’s for just over a year now. I cannot praise the staff enough, the care they give is second to none. I like that there are the same consistent staff on all shifts.

Quotation marks

The home runs as a family orientated residence with only the resident’s best interests at heart… Residents are encouraged to take part in activities to meet their emotional and wellbeing needs… The team cater for the resident’s religious needs and make enormous adjustments when residents are unable to attend mass in the chapel. St Josephs is a warm friendly environment, somewhere I would recommend to anyone seeking work or a residential placement for their loved ones.

Our Activities

Our activities are part of daily routines and support overall well-being. We like to make sure new and existing hobbies are encouraged. We hold lots of activities, that residents can choose from, there is something for everyone. Physical and cognitive health both benefit from residents becoming involved.

Making Care Inclusive

We have recently obtained a Tiny Tablet, which our residents are thoroughly enjoying! It has lots of great apps including YouTube, video calling, crosswords, games, arts, music and a piano.

The Magic of Animals

We regularly welcome a range of animals into our home. Research suggests that interaction with animals can have positive effects on older people, more so those living with dementia. Some of the benefits are reducing anxiety, companionship, and improving interactions.

Supporting Cognitive Health

Residents enjoy a range of board games. Not only does this help with bringing people together, but it’s also a great way to enhance memory, and exercise cognitive skills.

Staying Physically Active

We have a range of physical activities including bowls, ball games, and dancing. Physical activities are great for improving quality of life, especially mental health. We also enjoy going out into the community.

Little Visitors

A special part of St. Joseph’s are the visits we get from the children of our local nursery. Residents look forward to these visits, and staff have witnessed the benefits of these get-togethers.

Our Staff

Our registered manager Shelley, and her deputy Annie, lead the team. They describe their team as friendly, dedicated and compassionate; everyone pulls together and helps one another out.
Not only are our staff dedicated to providing the highest quality care, but they also go above and beyond to fundraise for causes, such as the Alzheimer’s Society.

20 Years of Service

Our registered manager, Shelley Perryman has recently received her long service award!
