Archdiocese announcement

News in category: External
Trustees, staff, volunteers, supporters and those in our services were delighted to hear the news about Mgr. Tim Menezes and Canon Richard Walker. Two strong friends of FHC, that Archbishop Bernard announced the following news yesterday in the Archdiocese.

I want to let you know……. that Mgr Timothy Menezes and Canon Richard Walker have been appointed by the Holy Father as Auxiliary Bishops for the Archdiocese.  I know that you will join me in assuring them both of our prayers as they prepare to take up their new responsibilities for the pastoral care of our clergy and people.

With their considerable pastoral experience and their dedicated service as Vicars General we can be sure that our two Bishops-Elect will approach their new responsibilities with energy and enthusiasm, and always sensitive to the present needs of our Archdiocese.  As they prepare for their episcopal ordination, we wish Mgr Timothy and Canon Richard every blessing in their new apostolate and assure them both of our continuing prayers.

For those  who were at the FHC Ball in March this year, and those who were at the blessing of Tabor Living last year by Archbishop Bernard, you will remember that both Canon Richard and Mgr. Tim were present to support both (very different) ventures.

You may also know that Mgr. Tim has been a volunteer at Tabor Living  for many years, and also the Chair of the St Chad’s Sanctuary  Board, one of our sister charities whom we work closely with .

This is great news for Archbishop Bernard and for the Church and we pray that this new ministry that they will be undertaking for Christ will bring great blessings to this Archdiocese.
