At the beginning of November last year our supported living service opened a new communal room, named after Adrian Southall, who sadly passed away. Adrian, who was a former tenant, had an incredible spirit, and a smile which would light up the room.
Adrian’s parents and brother joined us on the day and helped us to plant a small tree in the garden, in memory of Adrian, which will go on to grow for generations. We were also joined by Coleshill Deputy Mayor Sue Wallace who was happy to see the community feel.
The new communal room offers a great space for residents to interact with each other outside of their personal spaces. The room is situated on the ground floor, making it accessible, there is a small kitchen, a sofa, and small table.
“It’s amazing to remember that this was only a pipe dream for us all to have this room. And now to see this wonderful space in operation, words can’t explain how proud and happy I am for everyone who is associated to St Vincent’s House.”

Overall staff have seen an increase in socialising from residents and are happy with the outcome of this new space. They are looking forward to future events and being able to use this wonderful space.
