Origins: Support After Care

We understand that if you have spent time in care you may have questions about your time in care and your family of origin. We provide an Origins service to people who have been in care in Catholic homes that we have a connection to.

What records do we hold ?

If you were adopted from these homes please apply for information using the adoption form records below.

We have records for some children who were at other Catholic establishments.

We hold records for child migration schemes to Canada and Australia if the young person was under the care of the Birmingham Diocesan Rescue Society.

Additional records are held for those whose emigration to Canada was arranged by the Catholic Emigration Association.

Apply for access to your records

If you are applying for access to your own care records we do not charge a fee.

We do charge a fee to people who are researching their family history or are applying about a relative’s time in care.

Please download the relevant form below to apply to access your records.
