If you have been referred to our Family Support Service you may be a little worried, scared or not sure what to expect. We are here to work with you and your whole family to support you with any challenges or difficulties you face. We will ask you what is working well for your family and where you might need some extra help.
Parenting can present different challenges as your child grows. We are here to help you navigate these, to empower you to build resilience and to help you deal with any life events such as bereavement or separation that may affect you. We have a wealth of knowledge of other specialist services that could also support you and your children.
I feel very good because my family support worker always listens to me and we play games and now I have that connection with her.
Zena has helped us through some very difficult times, and I honestly could not have got through it without her. I’m quite a private person and the thought of letting someone in and know my troubles was hard but I was wrong, because Zena is the loveliest, most supportive person I know. I know it’s her job, but she goes above and beyond to help and support.
We were so nervous before our first meeting with our family support worker. As soon as she sat down, she put us both straight at ease. She was honest and open about the whole process. Without the family support workers help, we wouldn’t be where we are today as a family. We are all much happier because we now understand our son better, due to the tools we received.
