What started out in 1985 as visiting people in their homes, soon became a thriving and well needed project situated at the heart of Heath Town. Hope has worked hard over the years to create a successful multi-cultural community where everyone is welcome.

Our Principles

Reach

Engage everybody and anyone with respect and dignity.

Listen

We work with our community, developing relationships.

Connect

We build bridges between different groups of people.

A Warm Welcome

Stay warm, connected and make new friends. All are welcome, Tuesday or Thursday 10-12. Free drinks, food and charging facilities.

A little about our History

2024
Hope continues to work tirelessly, supporting the people of Heath Town, through forward thinking and engaging in conversations. Staff and volunteers continue to do home visits, as well as activities and groups, building relationships with the community.
2017
We moved into Ling House, our current centre.
2010
Hope became an independent charity, with its board controlling their visions and values. We continue to support Hope in many ways, including human resources support and payroll.
1999
Hope opened into empty shop units, following a successful grant application. They continued to knock doors, building connections in the community.
1994
Hope Community Project entered partnership with us. We helped them with many things including fundraising, and policies and procedures. Hope started getting involved with local youth work, and they started running educational classes such as IT.
1985
Three of the sisters became council tenants on Heath Town Estate, they began their work by home visiting and getting involved with local organisations. They scrapped their own agenda and started listening to the community.
Quotation marks

They are such a welcoming team and the people who I delivered to were happy for a hot meal.

Staying in Touch

Hope aims to take the loneliness out of the week, and give opportunities to meet likeminded people, in a safe and warm environment. They have a group specifically for men, as well as groups for children and families. Meet their friendly team, at their lunch club, or make friends on their well-being walk. There’s something for everyone.

Getting the most from your money

Hope can support you with your money, offering information sessions, and workshops. All staff are trained to provide low level advice and benefit checks. Once a week they deliver a food pantry to those facing immediate crisis. They also have a clothes bank.

Learning and Employability

Hope partners with various education services, and work placements around Wolverhampton. They hold a series of workshops, including ESOL and functional skills, to support people into the world of work. They offer volunteering opportunities within their office, giving experience in roles such as admin.
