Fatima House’s 10 Anniversary

News in category: Homelessness

For 10 years Fatima House has been a place of sanctuary for vulnerable migrant women in need of protection. A partnership between Father Hudson’s Caritas, the Columban Missionaries, the Archdiocese of Birmingham and the Parish of St Anne’s, Fatima House provides safe housing, stability, and an opportunity to move out of destitution.

On 10th June a Mass, presided by Archbishop Bernard Longley, took place to give thanks for the 10 years of Fatima House. It was followed by a reception where parishioners, supporters, funders, partners, and current and former residents gathered to celebrate. The Imam of Birmingham Central Mosque was present and shared the significance of the name ‘Fatima’ to Catholics and Muslims alike.

Attendees departed with a delicious cupcake baked by our chef at St Joseph’s Care Home
