New Routes Fostering is part of Father Hudson’s Care and is a small service which is ‘not for profit’ based in Coleshill, Warwickshire with good road links to Birmingham, Coventry, Solihull and Tamworth.

As a service we provide foster placements in the West Midlands area and are looking to expand into new geographical areas.  Our foster carers come from a range of diverse backgrounds, nationalities, faiths and cultures.      

The opportunity has arisen to join an established, committed and experienced team.

Candidates must be self-motivated, a team player and child-focused.  You will be required to provide effective and high quality social work practice and undertake tasks related to the recruitment, assessment, support, supervision and training of foster carers in accordance with legislation, guidance and good practice so as to appropriately meet the needs of looked after children and young people enabling them to reach their full potential.  As a small service, there is scope for creativity, preventative work and opportunities to undertake direct work with the children and young people.

You must be a qualified social worker and registered with Social Work England.  All posts are subject to Enhanced DBS checks, Employment References and Medical Clearance and subject to a probationary period of 6 months.  Occasional evening and weekend work is required, however such occurrences are minimal as the majority of work is undertaken during office hours; 9am – 5pm.  

In return we offer a full induction, regular supervision and a small and manageable caseload.  We are committed to staff training and continued professional development.  All social work staff are qualified to DDP Level 1. 

We also have access to a Clinical Psychotherapist who provides monthly clinical supervision to staff.  The therapeutic input is a valuable resource that is also offered to carers as and when the needs arises and is a resource that is also extended to children and young people in agreement with the respective Local Authority.

We are situated in Coleshill, a small village in North Warwickshire bordering Birmingham and Solihull.  Coleshill has a small high street with a range of shops and cafes.  The office is a purpose built building with a suburb view of the Warwickshire countryside.  There is a large private car park on site that can accommodate both staff and visitors to the office.
