Brushstrokes is an award-winning project in partnership with Father Hudson’s Care, The Infant Jesus Sisters and the parish of St Philip Neri, Smethwick. The project is well established with a proven track record in supporting refugees, asylum seekers and migrants in Sandwell and surrounding areas. Brushstrokes is working with Sandwell Council and Citizens Advice Sandwell on ‘Settling Well’, a project providing early interventions for migrants living in Sandwell helping them access services they require to ‘Settle well’.

This post will provide supervision and support for a team of community navigators and specialist advice for migrants living in Sandwell where immigration status is affecting their access to housing, health, social care and welfare benefits.  

We require an experienced advisor to provide casework to individuals whose immigration status affects access to housing, health, welfare benefits and social care. Successful candidates will possess specialist knowledge of migrants’ entitlements to welfare benefits and housing. Familiar with casework management systems, advice standards with experience of supervising volunteers and a commitment work to the project’s ethos of ‘Welcoming the Stranger’.

An Enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure & Barring Service will be requested by FHS if appointed.
