Tabor House is a shelter providing accommodation and holistic support for homeless people.  The project uses a strength-based approach to work with guests to enable them to move towards meaningful independent living.  The staff team is made up of a full-time Project Manager, a full time Caseworker, two part time overnight workers, this role and a part-time volunteer coordinator supporting over 80 regular volunteers.

You will engage directly with individuals experiencing homelessness and partner organisations to enable individuals to benefit from the services provided by Tabor House and Tabor living.  As a result of this engagement you will be able to work with individuals to move into Tabor House or support them to take up other appropriate services. You will have to understand each individual’s current situation and undertake strength based assessments of options on a case by case basis. Therefore, experience of working in a community engagement role of undertaking field research (preferably in Birmingham) is essential.  You will also be one of  the designated staff members on call for volunteers.
