Job Purpose:
1 Ensure cleaning carried out is always of the highest possible standard in residents room and
communal areas.
2 To maintain a clean and tidy laundry area.
DOMESTIC
Responsibilities:
1. Ensure cleaning carried out is always of the highest possible standard. Areas to be covered may include :
Resident’s bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms
Communal areas of the home, such as café, hair salon, shop, chapel, kitchen/dining areas (but not main kitchen) and washrooms
Stairs, laundry, lifts and balcony’s
Offices and respite / visitors rooms
2. To operate cleaning equipment such as floor polishers (after training), hoovers etc.
3. Refill and replace consumables in bathrooms and communal areas as identified.
4. To contribute to the health, safety and security of individuals and their environment.
5. Report any defects or potential hazard that may cause harm to a resident or damage equipment and / or furniture, so that corrective action may be taken immediately.
Note : ‘Cleaning’ may refer to dusting, polishing, hoovering, mopping, emptying wastebins, cleaning surfaces – walls, doors, partitions and mirrors.
