Advice Services Manager 37 Hours Per Week

Salary: £26,140.00 - £29,747.00 per annum

Brushstrokes is an award winning project in partnership with Father Hudson’s Care, The Infant Jesus Sisters and the parish of St Philip Neri, Smethwick. The project is well established with a proven track record in supporting refugees, asylum seekers and migrants in Sandwell and surrounding areas. We are recruiting maternity leave cover for our Advice Services Manager.  The post is responsible for managing our advice, information and support services for refugees, asylum seekers and migrants including OISC regulated Immigration advice and specialist advice on asylum support, housing, welfare benefits and health.  Our advice services are currently being delivered remotely via phone and the web and from our centre in Smethwick.  We also hope to reestablish our satellite sites and outreach in the future.


Successful candidates will have relevant experience of both managing and delivering similar advice services, as well as line managing a staff team. With an understanding of issues, legislation and policies connected with refugees, asylum seekers and migrants, candidates need to have an up to date working knowledge of asylum support, welfare, housing and immigration. 

Candidates are required to have knowledge and experience of case management systems, service reporting, monitoring and evaluation, along with compliance with advice quality standards/regulated activity e.g. OISC and the ability to partnership work.  The successful candidate will be committed to working with people from differing social and cultural backgrounds and committed to the project’s ethos of ‘Welcoming the Stranger’.
