Brushstrokes Community Project is an award-winning project delivered through Father Hudson’s Care, founded in partnership with the Infant Jesus Sisters, Our Lady of Charity of the Good Shepherd Sisters and the parish of St Philip Neri, Smethwick. The project is well established with a proven track record in supporting refugees, asylum seekers and migrants in Sandwell and surrounding areas.
Brushstrokes is looking for an advice and community engagement worker to join our team. Are you interested in increasing participation of local residents in community and social activities aimed at improving health and wellbeing, digital skills, providing new routes into volunteering and strengthening the voice of local people?
You will have experience of working within the community, have strong connections to your neighbourhood and a background in the delivery of information and advice? You will have the capacity to assess needs and support engagement with new groups and activities that will be of benefit local residents.
Your understanding and experience of the health service, ability to speak a community language in addition to your commitment to equality, diversity and the inclusion health agenda, will enable you to motivate and support individuals to meet their goals and enable people to feel a greater sense of belonging in Sandwell. You will possess strong administration, planning, evaluation and communication skills and be able develop strong and effective relationships with other agencies for the benefit of the project and those using our service.
