St Catherine's Day Service joins Transition Event 2021

Day Service

St Catherine's Day Service, which provides activities and support for adults with complex care needs, is taking part in the Transition Event 2021.

Hosted by My Family Our Needs, the Transition Event is a virtual event for young people with additional needs and those who support them. It brings together experts to talk about different transition topics, aims to help answer questions, and provide up-to-date information so you can best support your disabled young person and safeguard their future.

This year, the Transition Event is running throughout May, with webinars happening each week. There are also lots of articles and videos from different providers.

St Catherine's Day Service is part of the Marketplace, providing information on different services available for those transitioning to adult services.

Our centre in Coleshill is a welcoming and lively place, providing stimulating activities within the centre and in the community. Staff aim to make every day meaningful, supporting to enjoy new experiences and achieve personal ambitions.

There are many activities to enjoy at St Catherine's Day Service, including music sessions, arts and crafts, dance, and drama. Clients can get involved with daily life such as cooking and gardening and are encouraged to join in with our Christmas performance and other special events that take place throughout the year.

Our multi-sensory room and hydrotherapy pool provide peaceful places to relax, or to stimulate the mind, body, and senses. These areas are incredibly popular with clients who enjoy the freeing nature of the water, the ability to control their environment, and the multitude of sounds and sights.

Outside the centre, we assist people to take part in a wide range of activities, from enjoying local parks, horse riding or ice skating, to taking part in voluntary work or going to college.

With hand-on-hand support, people are empowered to accomplish as much as possible by themselves. And with sensitive care provision, each person’s dignity is our top priority.

We work closely with other specialist providers who support service users with physiotherapy, speech and language, and diet, among other things.
