COVID-19 Update from Father Hudsons Care

Reaching Out, Easter 2020

Damien

Welcome to the latest edition of Reaching Out, the newsletter for our supporters.

As we approach Easter - a time for new life and rebirth - we are pleased to share news about new projects we are undertaking at Father Hudson’s Care. In this issue, you will read about the new multisensory room at St Catherine's Day Service and a new initiative that St Joseph's Care Home helped launch to help people living with dementia. There are also stories about our Family Support Service and a new toolkit for parishes.

Since deciding on the articles for this newsletter, much has changed. With the spread of the Covid-19 crisis, situations continue to change daily. However, we are continuing to give as much support as possible to those we work with. We are blessed with dedicated staff and volunteers, who have been coming up with creative ways to support our clients. Even amid all that is happening, we look forward to resuming our support services and continuing to develop new initiatives when it is safe.

Sadly, one consequence of the Covid-19 situation is that many of our fundraising events have been cancelled or postponed. The annual Fundraising Ball, which this year was due to raise funds for St Joseph’s Care Home, is not going ahead. Our Good Shepherd assemblies have been cancelled due to school closures. And many events such as the Manchester Marathon and the Birmingham Velo, in which supporters were taking part to raise funds, have been cancelled. As a charity, we are dependent on the generosity of those who choose to raise funds for us or contribute to our work. Any donations you can make at this uncertain time would be even more valuable. Thank you.
