COVID-19 Update from Father Hudsons Care

New Head of Family

Anna parting gifts

In August, Father Hudson’s Care said goodbye to Anna Rooney, Head of Children and Families, after 16 years of service. Anna (pictured centre, receiving parting gifts from Usha Mehta and Nicola Winstanley) heads for new pastures at Barnardo’s in the East Midlands. Joanne Walthew, a social worker from New Routes Fostering, steps into the role.

Andy Quinn, Chief Executive of Father Hudson’s Care, said, “Anna can take great joy in the fact that she will be leaving a wonderful legacy that under her leadership New Routes was awarded Outstanding in their last Ofsted inspection. She can leave knowing that a strong team of social workers, volunteers and foster carers will remain.

“I’m very sad to see Anna leave, but know that Barnardo’s is very fortunate to have recruited her. They will benefit from her great experience. I am very pleased that we have been able to appoint Jo.”

Jo Walthew has now stepped up to manage New Routes Fostering and oversee the Family Support in Schools service. She brings with her a vast amount of experience and skills, having been a social worker for over 20 years and having worked with school communities in two different roles.

We wish good luck to both Anna and Jo in their new roles.
