Families say thank you to carers

Staff with print

Families of people living at St Catherine’s Bungalows recently got together to hold a collection to say thank you to the staff for their work throughout the lockdown. The fundraising was organised by Shabana Akram, whose daughter lives in one of the Bungalows.

On 7 November, Shabana delivered the first 'Thank You' to St Catherine's Bungalows and Day Service – a set of art prints she has commissioned specially.

Shabana writes:

“Thank you to everyone at St. Catherine's Bungalows for all you have done and continue to do for the residents. These art prints are the first 'Thank You' we are sharing with you.

“Each print has the name of the support worker, maintenance team, admin person and resident from each bungalow, including a print for Day Care Services, which not only engages so many of the residents but other visitors from the community.

“The art print is a little reminder of how many individuals work together as a Team to support our children and a visible 'Thank You' which will be displayed in each bungalow. The artist Abbi is from Hertfordshire who works for a local charity supporting children and adults with complex and additional needs to access art therapy.

Karen McPherson, Manager at St Catherine’s Day Service, said: “We would like to say a big thank you to Shabana for the painting it is amazing and so kind. It has pride of place in our reception area. It is very kind of her.”
