Caring businesses are invited to support Father Hudson’s 114th Annual Fundraising Ball, to help raise funds for the charity. The Ball takes place on Saturday 17 February 2018 at the National Conference Centre in Solihull.
Each year the Independent Ball Committee chooses an area of Father Hudson’s work to support. In 2018, proceeds will go to two projects – New Routes Fostering, to start a new youth club for looked-after children and young people; and St Vincent’s House independent living apartments, to provide a communal area for residents in Coleshill.
The Ball brings together hundreds of business owners, suppliers, charity supporters and members of the public from Solihull, Birmingham, Coleshill and surrounding areas. It offers an excellent opportunity for local companies to reach new customers and suppliers, advertise, attract new clients and network. And it shows a corporate commitment to social action by supporting a charity that works directly with people in need locally.
There are many ways businesses can get involved:
To book tickets, or to discuss sponsorship or donations, contact Ginny Cullen on 01675 434015 or email fundraising@fatherhudsons.org.uk.

New Routes Fostering finds loving, supportive homes for children and young people in and around Birmingham who are unable to live with their birth families. With the Ball’s help they want to start a fortnightly youth club. Looked-after children are vulnerable and research indicates that they are less likely to do well in life in comparison to their peers. A youth club will help meet social needs by building friendships and support networks, increase resilience and enable young people and children to learn new skills.
St Vincent’s House supported living apartments are home to ten people who require additional support to live independently. For many residents, their apartment at St Vincent’s House is the first home of their own. Father Hudson’s support workers help people with a range of daily tasks and to get involved in the community, go to voluntary or paid work and enjoy leisure and educational activities. St Vincent’s is in dire need of a communal space where people can get together to socialise with each other, their families and their friends. The Ball will support St Vincent’s to build a shared common room.
