The Aston University Music Society (AUMS) put on a wonderful concert of carols at the Carrs Lane Church in Birmingham on Saturday 7 December. The concert was free, with over £220 in voluntary donations supporting Tabor House, Birmingham’s only permanent night shelter.
The amazing choir sang carols with a modern twist. The band played First Noel and Cantique de Noel, as well as a novel arrangement of All I want for Christmas. The audience listened intently as Sharon Fear, who manages Tabor House, gave a short talk about the difference the shelter makes to women and men who would otherwise be on the street. All in all, it was a great afternoon and we’re enormously grateful to Ella and everyone involved in the AUMS.
