Located in Digbeth, Birmingham, the Tabor House night shelter uses a unique strength-based approach to support people experiencing homelessness to make a fresh start and take steps towards independent living. More than 100 people from all over the city volunteer at Tabor House, ensuring guests are looked after and welcomed as well as offering mentoring to support them as they make changes in their lives.
Tabor House is gradually expanding in order to support more homeless people in the city, and is looking for extra volunteers so it can continue to reach out.
Can you help? We have an ongoing need for:
Volunteer mentors – supporting guests to engage with services and move forward in their lives.
Hospitality volunteers – providing guests with a welcoming environment during their stay at Tabor House.
Volunteer shift leaders – supporting hospitality volunteers to make guests welcome.
