Adoption Support
Father Hudsons Society has offered an adoption service for over 60 years. In the latter years it has specialised in the placement of older children and sibling groups, who can be amongst the more difficult to place children. In 2009 the Society de-merged its adoption recruitment and assessment work into a new Charity, Family Society, operating under the name of “Adoption Focus”. The Society was sad to lose this work which had been at the core of the Society for so long, but was determined that, despite the difficulties that recent legislation had caused, the valuable and life changing work of adoption should continue. The Society has good relations with Family Society –Adoption Focus and most of the staff at Adoption Focus formerly worked for the Society’s adoption team. If you are interested in becoming an adoptive parent please visit http://www.adoption-focus.org.uk where there is a wealth of information and full contact details.
The Society will continue to be a registered Adoption Support Agency and will provide support to those families who have adopted children through the Society in the past.
Adults whose lives have been affected by adoption through Father Hudson’s Society, either as an adopted child or as a member of a birth family should also look at the Origins section of this website.
