The Banbury Schools Family Support Project
One of Father Hudson’s Society’s Trustees, being aware of all the new developments around Family Support in Schools, was keen to see if the Banbury area could benefit from such a service. He networked extensively with Headteachers and Parish priests and others to draw together a committee, which the Father Hudson’s Society Community Projects manager facilitated. This resulted in the decision to recruit a new worker in the autumn term of 2007.
Blessed George Napier is the Senior school and St Joseph’s and St John’s are the two Primary Schools involved.
The Family Support worker began work in November 2007. Blessed George Napier School kindly provided her Office space and a base for her work.
A noteworthy feature of this Project is that the two local parish Communities have offered support for the Project, including some financial support and office space when the schools are closed for the holidays.
