Leaving a Legacy
Including a bequest to a charity in your Will is tax efficient, as any gifts to charity are deducted before inheritance tax is calculated.
It was the gift of two legacies which allowed Father Hudson to open the first home for boys in 1906. Today the wonderful and mostly unexpected gift of a legacy bequest is especially treasured. Such precious gifts help to ensure that our invaluable work will continue to help those who need our help now and in the future.

Father Hudson’s Society In Memoriam Fund
No flowers please
It has long been the custom to send flowers to a funeral as a token of affection for the person who has died. It also acts as an expression of sympathy to those who are bereaved.
Although most of us feel there should be some flowers at a funeral, it is often the desire of the bereaved to receive only wreaths and bouquets from the immediate family. In such cases we may feel that we would like to do something to show that we care.
Our In Memoriam Fund enables mourners to make a contribution, in lieu of flowers, in memory of the person who has died. This will be used, in their name, towards our work of caring for those in great need. We hope that this expression of care will be a comfort to the next of kin. We will keep the next of kin informed about the names of the contributors to the fund and of the total amount received into the In Memoriam Fund in their loved one’s name.
In addition the names of loved ones will be entered into our Book of Remembrance, which is kept in St Philomena’s Chapel at our Coleshill site. We hold a First Friday Mass in St Philomena’s chapel at 12.30 p.m. every month. You are very welcome to attend in the month of your relative or friend’s anniversary when the book will be open at the page where their name is entered.
