St Joseph’s
Making the decision to move into residential care can sometimes cause anxiety. We strive to ensure that the move to St. Josephs is a move towards a happy fulfilling later life.
The home from home environment, beautiful surroundings and excellent staff care will give you peace of mind, support, friendship and stimulation.
St. Joseph’s is a purpose built home for older people and people with dementia which opened in October 2002. All bedrooms are spacious, fully furnished and have an en-suite shower room. Residents are free to make their bedrooms their own by bringing in their own furniture, ornaments and pictures.

Designed in 4 wings, which are all self contained, the home never feels overwhelming or crowded. Joining the four wings together are communal walkways which also have a chapel, a communal activity lounge, a shop and a hairdressers. Access to the 2 first floor wings is either by lift or the wide staircase which lead to a balcony. The two first floor wings also have outside balconies allowing for fresh air and beautiful view across the North Warwickshire countryside. The centre of Coleshill with shops, cafes and pubs is just a few minutes walk away.

Spiritual Care at St Joseph’s
St. Joseph’s welcomes the faith and spiritual needs of all residents; these are regarded as important, as is the right to have no particular beliefs at all. The chapel is always available to all for quiet prayer and reflection. We have visiting chaplains and Mass is celebrated regularly.
We are glad to be able to work from time to time with Frances Molloy and the volunteers from the Pastoral Care Project. They help to support the Christian ethos at St. Joseph’s by visiting some of the residents and by arranging services and celebrations at particular times of the year.

Staffing at St Joseph’s
Care staff are on hand 24 hours a day to provide care and support when needed. All care workers of St Joseph’s will possess or be working towards gaining NVQ level 2. Other training is provided to ensure that the staff team at St Joseph’s is able to respond professionally to the needs of people who live in the home. Residents are supported sensitively to meet their range of daily needs which vary from time to time and person to person. Meeting the needs of each individual is a priority as is encouraging as much independence as possible.

Sharing our Facilities
It is good to be able to share the facilities St. Joseph’s has to offer with Age Concern and also with the Phoenix group. Both of these run day activities sessions for older people from the local communities and contribute to the Mission of St. Joseph’s in its aim to reach out to people who are at risk of becoming isolated.
