Young at Heart events and services

/media/community-projects/library/youngatheart5.jpgYoung at Heart clubs run in Hanley, Kidsgrove and Meir, offering the opportunity to socialise over a light lunch, meet new people and take part in a range of activities to improve your health and wellbeing. The project also offers a befriending service, offering companionship and support, and gardening service, supporting people to live independently within their own home.

Butt Lane lunch club

Every Friday at Congleton Road Community Centre, Butt Lane, Stoke-on-Trent.

11:00am to 1:30pm, three-course lunch and light games, £4.50.

Hanley lunch club

Every other Monday at Sacred Heart Community Centre, Jasper Street, Hanley. 

12:30pm to 2pm, light lunch, £3.50, followed by afternoon activity session from 2pm to 4pm, £1.

The club has been awarded a food hygeine rating of four out of five meaning food is handled, prepared and stored safely, facilities are clean and that the inspector is confident these standards will be maintained in the future.

Kidsgrove friendship club

One Tuesday a month at Kidsgrove Town Hall.

2pm to 3:30pm, for refreshments and activities, £1.

Meir Club 

Every other Tuesday at Meir Park Community Hall, Lysander Road, Stoke-on-Trent.

2pm to 4pm, for refreshments and activities, £1.

We add new dates regularly, so please check the newsletter below to see what's on. All of the venues are fully accessible, but if you would like assistance or transport to help you attend please contact Matthew Ford on 07587 034299. Befriending service

Young at Heart's befriending service offers companionship and support for people who are socially isolated for a variety of reasons. Volunteers visit people at their home once a week for a chat or to simply keep them company.

Gardening service

Young at Heart supports older people to live independently within their own homes, by offering a a high quality, reliable gardening service at reasonable price. Gardeners can offer help with a variety of tasks including mowing the lawn, weeding, pruning and general garden maintenance.

There is a small charge for the service to ensure the work carried out is of a high quality and the gardener is police checked, trained and fully insured.
